Andie Cooper was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and is now loving “retired” life in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. She has had the pleasure of living in no fewer than 10 very beautiful English counties, including County Durham, North Yorkshire, Somerset and Cumbria.
She studied Botany and Microbiology in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (another amazing place to live) and has a passion for outdoor life, nature and the environment. She is a self-taught artist, moving from the finely observed detail of botanical art, to recent exploration of more abstract work, always with nature and landscape at its heart.
Andie usually works from her own photographs of places that she knows very well and loves. Mountains, lakes, woodland and wild coast are her favourite haunts, and she’s a believer in that old adage that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.
I’d love to hear your comments on my work. Please get in touch to find out more, or to ask about a commission or print. I’m taking part in Derbyshire Open Arts at the end of May 2025. Please see Andie Cooper | Derbyshire Open Arts for details.
